Launching of the Research Centre for Info-Communication Technologies
26-28, May, 2014

On May 28th, Faculty of Electrical Engineering (University of Montenegro) held a public event, Research Open Day, showcasing the opening of its new laboratory and the establishment of the new Research Centre for ICT. The lab has been equipped using the Fore-Mont EU project funds, marking the new direction of the applied ICT research at the University. The Research Centre for ICT is a major tool in the implementation of the Fore-Mont project, with the objective of merging research activities of the three UoM research groups working in the area of ICT: Centre for telecommunications, Laboratory for signal processing and Laboratory for multimedia.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Fore-Mont project partners across the research centres in EU, local industry and participants interested in collaborations. The Research Open Day provided information, presentations and demonstrations essential in pursuing cooperation with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and its new research centre for ICT, both for international and local partners. Topics span ICT research areas already being in the scope of the research teams included in the Fore-Mont project as well as new areas for applied ICT research (e.g. ICT and life-sciences, sensor networks and IoT solutions).
